This photo series was inspired by Solange Knowles’ song “Don’t Touch My Hair,” which stresses the importance of hair in the African-American community. I wanted to keep the woman and her hair at the center of this project. This project was also an exercise in my Photoshop skills. I wanted hone my masking + collaging skills, my duo-tone editing skills, and begin incorporating simple Illustrator elements in photo collages.
